Matt Hughes signs multi fight UFC deal

Former UFC welterweight champion, Matt Hughes, has just reported on his official blog that "Last week I went out to Vegas and I signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC, which is much like my last contract." Hughes (44-7) was coming off back to back losses to Thiago Alves and George St-Pierre going into his fight with Matt Serra at UFC 98. Although hurt in the first round, Hughes rallied to win a unanimous decision which some consider a little controversial.

Hughes apparently also brought up the fact that he wanted to do a hunting show which he posted on his blog saying "I also brought up the fact that I wanted to do a hunting show and they thought that would be a good thing." Hughes also posted that it is unknown when or where he will fight next or who he will fight next. He did state that the UFC mentioned an opponent to him that he had never fought before. You can visit Matt Hughes' official blog here.

With an opponent yet unnamed, we are only left with speculation. I could see Hughes fighting somebody like Jon Fitch or Anthony Johnson as long as Johnson wins his next fight.
